Garden of Dreams

Roses are red,
Violets are blue
Plagiarism's old,
So write something new.

Words aren't endangered,
There are many to spare,
But a few new arrangements,
Would be nice if you dare.

The Allman Brothers,
Now sell food,
"Everyday People",
Drive cars.

Marilyn Manson's
Groaning "Sweet Dreams",
On video screens,
In bars.

A new word, "sampling",
Is on our lips,
And c.d./ tape store shelves
It's origin is Greek. It means,
We can't think for ourselves.

The roses and violets,
All have died.
Our darden,
We must replant.

But to find new seeds,
To sow these days,
Most people,
Simply, can't,

We must be brave,
And break new ground,
Then tender shoots,
We'll nourish.

Think new thoughts,
And write them down,
So our garden then,
Will flourish.

Daisies white and yellow are,
Hibiscus orange-red.
Don't pick someone else's flowers,
Grow your own ideas instead.
